FIBER COMPONENTS: WDMs, circulators, and couplers |
|
The intelligent usage of fiber branching/multiplexing devices such as WDMs, CWDMs, circulators, and couplers can greatly enhance the capacity of
each fiber pass. As a result, cost saving, smaller footprint, or both can be realized. For example, CWDMs components allow up to 8 independent
bidirectional signal channels to pass through one singlemode fiber. Most real life applications, however, can be
sufficiently served with doubled capacity. Therefore, a simple low-cost WDM will do the job.
This page presents three common branching devices: WDMs, circulators, and couplers. Give us a call if your applications require higher level
of multiplexing. The enclosed device shown in the picture is a convenient way to handle them in the field. The actual device is much smaller.
So it is possible to integrate those devices in existing systems (without the enclosure) to save space.
